At the Paris Games Week, Sony has released a new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2, which seems a bit mysterious since it doesn’t include Joel or Ellie. Instead, the clip shows some previously unknown characters who are likely to play a major role in the post-apocalyptic adventure.
The focus of the trailer is a woman who is caught and hanged by unknown people. Before she can be seriously harmed, a second captive woman is brought in. The tide turns quickly as arrows come flying out of the darkness.
Naughty Dog has also announced on Twitter the names and actors of the main characters of this trailer. The Asian woman in the white top is called Yara and is played by Victoria Grace. Her boyfriend is Lev, is played by Ian Alexander. Emily, who is obviously the leader of the adversary group in the trailer, is played by Emily Swallow. Finally, there’s Laura Bailey in the role of the mysterious woman whose name Naughty Dog has not yet revealed.
Neither Sony nor Naughty Dog have yet commented on a release date for The Last of Us 2 for PS4. The work was recorded in 2014, the new action adventure was announced in 2016. The production is likely to have gained some momentum just a few weeks ago. The Last of Us Part 2 is now in full production after the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
