Game Developers Choice Awards kanë shpallur kandidatët për 21 vjetorin e çmimeve, me fituesit që do të shpallen të mërkurën, më 21 Korrik.
Si zakonisht, çmimet do të jepen si pjesë e Game Developers Conference, e cila këtë vit do të zhvillohet si një ngjarje krejt dixhitale nga data 19 deri më 23 korrik. Çmimi i Independent Games Festival do të shpallet gjithashtu të njëjtën ditë.
Hades, Ghost of Tsushima dhe The Last of Us 2 barazuan këtë vit me gjithsej shtatë nominime secila, përfshirë lojën e vitit. Half-Life: Alyx mori nominimet më të radhës, për pesë kategori duke përfshirë Game of the Year.
